November 2010 - Contemporary Controls will be in Hall 10, Stand 131 at the SPS/IPC/DRIVES fair in Nuremberg, Germany, November 23-25, 2010. The SPS show is Europe's leading exhibition for the electric automation industry, with over 1,000 exhibitors and an expected attendance of more than 48,000 visitors.

The low-cost Skorpion series within the CTRLink – Ethernet for Automation line has been expanded. To compliment the Skorpion PoE Injector, a Skorpion PoE Spltter will be introduced that taps off 24 VDC from a Power over Ethernet (PoE) port in order to power non-PoE Ethernet devices. Skorpion 100 Mbps media converters have been added to make the copper to fiber conversion. These are true media converters to ensure low data latency. A low-cost five-port Gigabit switch further compliments the wide range of unmanaged Skorpion switches.
Two IP routers will be showcased in the Contemporary Controls stand. The first is a wired router with built-in four-port switch on the LAN-side. On the WAN-side is an Ethernet port that can accommodate Ethernet-based cable or DSL modems in order to access the Internet. This product incorporates an automation industry firewall that offers reliability and ease of use. The second product is a wireless router that provides the same firewall protection but gains access to the Internet using the cellular network with protocols such as GPRS and EDGE.
In addition, Contemporary Controls will showcase the BAS Remote, which is one of the first products to obtain Sedona Framework® certification. The BAS Remote series provide the system integrator a flexible building block when integrating diverse building automation protocols or when expanding the number of points in a building automation system. By supporting open system protocols such as BACnet®, Modbus and Sedona Framework SOX, the BAS Remote series is easily adaptable.
